The ninth season of Supernatural, an American night fantasy telly serial created by Eric Kripke, premiered on Oct 8, 2013, concluded on May 20, 2014, and contained 23 episodes.[1] This is the second season with Jeremy Carver equally showrunner. The flavour was released on DVD and Blu-ray in region 1 on September nine, 2014,[2] in region 2 on June 8, 2015,[3] and in region iv on October 8, 2014.[four] The 9th flavour had an average viewership of 2.19 meg U.Southward. viewers.[5]

On February 11, 2013, CW president Marker Pedowitz confirmed an early renewal of Supernatural for its ninth season,[29] with the flavor premiere debuting on Tuesday, October 8, 2013.[1] Information technology was later confirmed, on February 25, 2013, that Misha Collins would render every bit a regular cast member, after existence a special guest fellow member for the previous two seasons. It was too announced that he would directly an episode in season 9.[30]

A new character named Ennis was introduced in episode twenty of this season, which would serve as a backstairs pilot for Supernatural: Bloodlines.[31] On May 8, 2014 information technology was announced that the spin-off had not been picked upward by the CW Network.[32]

The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes gives the 9th flavour a 100% approving rating based on 12 reviews, with an boilerplate score of 8.3/10. The critics consensus reads, "Even in its ninth season, Supernatural continues to thrill and fright every bit it moves the Winchester brothers in surprising new directions."[33]
